Senior Data Mining Engineer

We are seeking an accomplished mathematician/statistician computer scientist who is able to develop, analyze and program cutting-edge algorithms based on Bayesian networks and statistical models that will be at the core of Guardian Analytics' fraud prevention applications. In this key role reporting to our Chief Scientist, you will extend, develop, implement and program new algorithms and underlying mathematical theory, and use your software and database skills to help design and implement core components of our algorithms and models.
Qualifications/Skills/Experience

* Advanced degree in Math, CS, EE or related discipline with software development experience in statistical or web analytics for online massive, dynamic data sets and events
* Theoretical knowledge, intuitive understanding and practical hands-on experience with mathematical algorithms such as Bayesian Networks and statistical learning algorithms
* Hands on technical experience with statistical analysis, visualization and data mining tools such as R (strongly preferred) or Matlab, Java programming, SQL, databases, data warehouses and OLAP tools
* Strong data and statistical analysis background and experience including probability theory and statistical modeling technique; proven ability to balance theory with pragmatic problem solving skills to develop and apply advanced algorithms to real world problems and data
* Proven ability to work with product managers and software engineers to translate requirements into design that can be implemented in code for both fraud detection and data visualization
* Experience or interest in fraud detection, especially in the financial sector; and a passion for ensuring that algorithms and data analysis effectively solve real-world business problems
