Mining Engineer

Job Description
At the entry level and under the mentoring and guidance of mining engineer staff, the successful candidate will participate in a full range of Mining Engineering services for 8 nation-wide divisions. These projects could involve plans for open-pit and underground construction aggregate quarries (crushed stone or sand and gravel). Such plans include ultimate pit designs, short and long-term mining sequences, haul road designs, drainage systems, protective berms, overburden disposal sites, volume calculations, and identification of various grades of materials.

Required Skills
BS in Mining Engineering (or an associated technical field) and significant in-field summer work or intern/co-op experience. Some experience with MineSight 3D or similar computerized mine design programs. Excellent interpersonal skills, including oral and written communications and the ability to listen and assimilate ideas into plans are required. Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Release 14 or higher, is required. AutoDesk Land Desktop or Civil Design knowledge is a plus. Knowledge of database management programs and Trimble ProXRS.
