Description

Provide high level technical support for maintenance, operation, and project design of electrical power distribution systems (Transformers, Switchgear, Transmission Feeders, Substations, Motor Control Centers, Uninterruptible Power Supplies, Fault Coordination), large electrical rotating equipment (Motors & Generators) and Variable Speed Drives. Provide engineering support for scope development, planning and implementation of the electrical systems and associated equipment, predictive and preventative maintenance program. Participated in and/or facilitate review of failure on electrical equipment. Collect equipment failure data for analyses and identify/recommend improvements to minimize shutdown and maximize equipment availability and reliability. Provide technical support and technical standards for maintenance and reliability activities such as repair, routine overhaul and equipment upgrade pertaining to electrical equipment. Work with operation and commercial group to identify trends and opportunities to improve plant availability, increase plant capacity, growth, reliability, maintainability and expandability. Facilitate within company to ensure consistent application and continuous improvements of electrical reliability tools and methods. Ensure maintenance, operation and project design of electrical equipment meets safety requirements and applicable city, state and federal codes and standards.

Requirements
BS in Electrical Engineering. 10+ years in plant maintenance, reliability activities and in electrical design of petroleum refining & petrochemical plants, gas processing facilities, and pipeline stations. Extensive experience with design and troubleshooting of large induction and synchronous type medium voltage motors (2300V to 13800V) of horsepower up to 34,000 hp. Extensive experience with design and troubleshooting of large medium voltage variable frequency drives of voltage source inverter (Pulse Width Modulation) and current source inverter (Load Commutated Inverter) type. Extensive knowledge in the use and application of predictive technologies such as infrared testing, Oil Samples and dissolved gas Analysis of Transformer Oil, Current Analysis, Power Quality, Insulation Testing and Motor Management Relay (Multilin). Well versed in applicable codes, government regulations, standards pertaining to electrical systems such as NFPA, NEC and API. Excellent written and verbal skills. Ability to interface effectively with wide range of technical, analytical and managerial personnel. Working knowledge of Microsoft office applications. Strong planning and organizational skills.
