Position Summary:
Product Engineer developing manufacturing processes and any required assembly & test tooling that provides the best cost, quality, and timely delivery of a new solid ink product from concept through production launch.

Responsibilities:
Develop, document, and deploy new product platform manufacturing processes & tools to off-shore manufacturing partners as part of a cross-functional product development team.
Assure that these processes are robust through the manufacturing process and product lifecycle.
Lead and participate in activities for robust design for manufacture, failure mode assessment, and component design integrity through prototype builds, stress testing, empirical data, and analytical analysis.
Prototype build setup, coordination, result assessment, problem submittal, resolution tracking, and participation in solution designs.
Provide documentation and training to pilot plant assembly personnel.
Support product change characterization, qualification, and technical problem resolution.
Perform qualification testing to include laboratory and print engine evaluations to assure intended function and unwanted effect avoidance, plus part specification review and quality assurance plan input.

Requirements:
# BS in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent experience).
# 3-5 years experience designing and troubleshooting electro-mechanical devices, especially printing engines is important to this position.
# Working familiarity with machine shop and measurement equipment (mill, lathe, band saw, drill press, welders, multi-meters, force gauges, oscilloscopes, calipers, micrometers, microscopes, thermocouples, etc...) required.
# Knowledge of typical office application (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) required.
# Experience in solid modeling systems, specifically Pro/ENG, is required.
# Self motivation, organizational skills, multi-tasking, ability to prioritize, and attention to detail are essential skills for this position.
# Project work will likely involve DOE’s and some Lean Six Sigma tools, so experience with these techniques a plus.
# Experience with Design for Assembly/Manufacture/Test, GD&T methods, Data Analysis, Statistics and Reliability engineering, FMEAs, MSAs, Analytical and structural to problem solving (Shainin, DfLSS) a plus.
# Qualifications, education, and experience will determine hiring level.
