Expedia is looking for an experienced Senior Director to deliver the next generation of data warehousing solutions for the enterprise. In this role, you would lead the organization responsible for designing, developing, and implementing technology to enable the business to effectively leverage information and drive our business. This includes working closely with the appropriate product planning, business, data analytics and operations teams to set and deliver upon the vision for the Data Warehouse organization. You will have financial and management responsibility for the organization, which includes program management, development and quality resources.

Responsibilities include:

1) Partnering with Expedia technical and business owners to gain a deep understanding of data usage and data analytics requirements for the enterprise
2) Designing, building and maintaining a world-class, scalable, and extensible Data Warehouse platform
3) Defining key metrics for operational processes, and implementing performance enhancement programs
4) Hiring, managing, and mentoring a team of Program Managers, Database Development Engineers, and Quality Engineers to build & deploy these systems
5) Working with other teams at Expedia to deliver cross-group projects
6) Participating in technology leadership forums to drive enterprise wide platform and process improvements.
7) Ensuring the Data Warehouse team is organized for maximum throughput and efficiency
8) Levergaing Expedia vendors to assist in the development, testing and deployment of high-quality software solutions


Qualifications include:

1) An MBA is preferred or a BA/BS/MS degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline with relevant experience
2) A minimum of five years management experience in a Data Warehouse environment
3) Strong project and process management skills
4) Strong people management skills – proven ability to successfully manage up, down, and across the organization
5) Strong communication and interpersonal skills
6) Strong organization and leadership skills
7) Knowledge of data mining, statistical analysis techniques, and BI technologies required
8) Experience working with Data Warehouse technologies such as Informatica, DB2, SQL Server, and Tealeaf strongly preferred
9) Experience in outsourcing and/or working with offshore resources strongly preferred.
