Location:Houston, TX

Expertise to deliver detailed drilling engineering for the design, planning and execution of drilling operations on new and existing wells. Monitor all phases of operations, and ensure adequate risk assessment at all times.
Responsibilities:
•Ensure drilling programs, program amendments and dispensations to policy are prepared on schedule and are adequately risk assessed.
•Support all phases of the drilling operations.
•Perform post-analyses for benchmarking and learning.
•Travel to the field locations to monitor and participate in drilling operations.
•Perform third party Quality Assurance and Quality Control.
•Lead engineering studies to improve drilling operational performance.
•Work closely with resource teams, geologists, production and service company personnel to ensure an efficient operation
•Strong commitment to Safety and Environmental compliance.
•Duties and responsibilities as directed.

Qualifications:
•Minimum of 10 years of experience planning and executing an offshore well design for oil or gas wells preferably in the Gulf of Mexico.
•Demonstrated experience working with multi-disciplinary teams.
•Previous experience working as a Drilling Engineer.
•Previous responsibility for planning and executing a well design for an oil or gas well.
•Total well planning and design skills, cost estimation and risk analysis, operation support to filed team, HSE behaviours, MMS requirements and teamwork skills across multi-disciplinary teams
•Offshore drilling, pore pressure,/frac gradient prediction, drilling mechanics, directional drilling, drilling fluids, cementing, well control, formation evaluation

Working Conditions:
•Office environment primarily, Operations site environment when specific evaluation / problems require such or possibly vendor site where new equipment/rehabilitation work is performed
•Requires occasional travel outside service area
•Requires wearing personal protective safety equipment (respirators, safety glasses, hard hat, appropriate footwear, ear plugs, etc.) as appropriate when evaluating site or equipment
•Requires standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, twisting, climbing steps and/or ladders to inspect equipment when necessary
•Requires operation of a personal computer
