Major Duties:
Responsible for military construction and civil works activities at a resident office such as: reviews plans and specifications for adequacy, clarity and adaptability to site conditions and recommends action to eliminate deficiencies. Reviews contractor's construction schedules and shop drawings. Analyzes engineering and cost data for contract changes, prepares cost estimates and recommends action on change order and contract modifications. Participates in contract negotiation for reasonable and acceptable cost incident to contract mods. Maintains engineering records and files. Reviews or transmits to district office for review, shop drawing transmittals, Certificates of Compliance, closeout forms, property forms, and Catalog Cuts. Visit on-going construction sites to perform quality assurance and contract management activities.

Qualifications:
# Specialized experience is a comprehensive, intensive, practical knowledge of, and skill in applying, technical engineering design and geometric principles related to complex design and construction sufficient to monitor the work for compliance with contract requirements; review designs for conformance with current construction industry practices; ensure designs fit field conditions and comply with performance based contract requirements; and use a variety of contracting processes to provide oversight for construction contracts. PHYSICAL DEMANDS - Work involves regular and recurring exposure to moderate risks and discomforts, such as: dust, strong ordors, funes, chemical or engine exhaust; high level or noise and vibration, dust, grease, etc. Employee must stay alert continually and take special safety precautions including wearing special protective items of clothing.
