Minimum Qualifications
B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) with a minimum ten (10) years engineering and product development experience, including five (5) years medical device industry (ISO/GMP) and supervisory experience. M.S. or Ph.D. is desirable.
Must have proven design and development experience areas such as fluid dynamics, pneumatics, finite element analysis, tolerance analysis and materials selection.
Expertise in the use of standard mechanical lab equipment such as Instron tensile testers, accelerated cyclic testers, multimetersis .
Experienced with design software packages such as SolidWorks or ProE.
Must have familiarity with relevant standards and regulatory requirements (FDA, GMP, ISO, TUV, UL, CSA).

BASIC FUNCTION:
The Senior Design Engineer will be primarily responsible for structural engineering support of the international MODU fleet. EDUCATION:
B.S., M.S., or M.E. in Engineering. Major in Structural, Civil, Marine, or Ocean Engineering.
EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of 5 years’ work experience with drilling contractor, marine contractor or consulting firm working specifically for the offshore drilling industry. Must have specific experience in the areas of structural analysis and design, FE analysis, and related shipyard structural engineering project support.

The DNV rules and other industrial standards and codes form the basis for our certification and verification activities. Our objective is to assist our clients to achieve successful pipeline design/manufacturing/ fabrication/installation. The work is typically carried out as independent FE analyses and document review in close co-operation with experienced personell. Both follow up of manufacturing/fabrication at site and offshore installation is a part of our work.
This gives good opportunities for accelerated learning. Some of the large projects may also include offshore work.
- Consultancy and Research & Development:
DNV is actively involved in large international R&D projects. This often includes presentation and profiling at international conferences. Furthermore DNV has the ambition to be the prime technical advisor and provider of risk management for demanding pipeline projects.

DNV sees an increasing demand for services covering the operational phase for pipelines, related to Pipeline Integrity Management (PIM). We therefore foresee very challenging tasks ahead for further development and execution of our services.
In this context we are also developing state-of-the-art software and methodology used for pipeline integrity management and risk based inspection planning.
Qualifications
You will have an Engineering degree within:
Structural engineering,
Mechanical engineering,
Marine Technology,
Materials Technology or
Offshore engineering
