Key Responsibilities:

Performs advanced areas of work in design, maintenance, enhancement, testing, implementation, and support of Integrated Control and Safety Systems (ICSS) for Oil, Gas or Marine Projects. Applies advanced skills to resolve complex problems not covered by existing procedures or practices independently. Displays a high level of critical thinking in bringing successful resolution to high-impact, complex, and/or cross-functional problems.

Education:

Typically BS/BA in related discipline or advanced degree. Certification may be required in some areas.

Knowledge and Experience:

Demonstrates and applies comprehensive knowledge of field of specialization to the successful completion of complex assignments. Demonstrates advanced knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures of particular area of specialization. Demonstrates significant knowledge of organizations business practices and issues faced and contributes to problem resolution of those issues. Typically 8-10 years of successful experience in related field and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above. Advanced degree MAY be substituted for experience, where applicable.

Senior Mechanical Engineer

SBM Offshore Group is a multinational group of companies selling systems and services to the oil and gas industry. The Company’s clients are mainly the offshore oil and gas producing companies both private and government owned, and its market position has been established in a strongly competitive environment.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to, the following:
•Handling and coordinating equipment packages for offshore oil and gas facilities.
•Preparation of RFQ, bid evaluations and preparing technical and commercial recommendation on equipment packages.
•Work in a multi-discipline environment as part of a project task force.
•Travel to equipment fabrication sites to manage, monitor and coordinate with the vendors, inspectors and project team in the designing and fabrication process.

Education and Experience:
Required:
•B.S. Mechanical Engineering
•Minimum 10 years offshore oil & gas industry experience
•Supervisory experience

Prefer:
•Previous process and utility package experience for offshore projects.
•Knowledge of mechanical design including pumps, rotating equipment, pressure vessels and compressors

Software Experience:
Required:
•Intermediate-Advanced Microsoft Word and Excel experience
Prefer:
•Vessel designing programs - COMPRESS or equivalent

Drilling Engineer

Location: US-CA-Bakersfield

Essential Job Duties:

Primary responsibilities include actively participating within a multi-disciplined team responsible for identifying and developing additional reserves; Develop and implement innovative and efficient Drilling and Completion Programs (both office engineering and field implementation) in accordance with proactive health, environmental and safety goals; Assist with contracting and procurement strategies for logistics, materials and third party services.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering or related field
• At least 5 years of drilling engineer experience with a major or independent oil company.
• Planning and implementation of drilling and completion programs for vertical, deviated and horizontal wells in fields with flowing wells, water and gas injection, and various forms of artificial lift
• Self-starter, with a strong desire to deliver superior results
• Proven ability to develop & assist in implementing creative engineered drilling, completion & workover plans
• Knowledgeable in a wide range of drilling, completion and artificial lift technologies
• Cost effective/efficient attitude and approach
• Proven team player capable of working in a multi-discipline, multi-company, multi-national team environment to select and apply appropriate technologies for the effective development of additional reserves
• Willingness to work on a long-term assignment in California with the possiblity of relocating domestically and/or internationally for future assignments
