Job Summary:
Manage the civil engineer contract management and assignments of all civil engineering for Lucas ADA in order to create a more cost effective and efficient flow of construction documentation. Design, develop and accurately communicate remediation solutions for Site Accessibility Barriers as documented in an independent survey. This position will be responsible for designing site barrier remediation solutions and preparing necessary construction documents to implement said solution in compliance w/ established protocols and accessibility standards and/or codes. Some in house drawings will also be completed.

Responsibilities/Skills/Experience Requirements:
• Site Plans of single use, free standing, retail outlet stores of approximately 80,000SF.
• Perform initial due diligence investigations.
• Meet w/ various Team Members, and/or Management to establish project requirements.
• Prepare conceptual site planning solutions/layouts based on agreed upon and code requirements
• Prepare Construction Documents (using ACAD 2006 or newer software) based on agreed upon site layout and/or barrier remediation solutions , acceptable to EPA and local authorities and monitor development progress of others
• Prepare Project Specifications / Project Manual in conjunction w/ Construction Documents.
• Prepare and monitor progress schedules using scheduling software (e.g. Microsoft Project)
• Perform hydraulic & hydrologic calculations for pipe design & storm water management, using appropriated software, including preparation of calculations in report format for submission to governing authorities.
• Communication and Coordination skills and be able to work well with Landlord/Owners, Store Personnel, Tenants, Local Governing Authorities, Architectural designers, Construction Project Manager, Outside Professional Consultants, Attorneys, etc...
• Coordinate work of Outside Consultants, such as boundary/topo surveys, wetland reports, site lighting, site landscaping, etc.
• Construction administration: Pre-bid coordination, review Shop Drawings, responding to RFI's, Site Punch lists, etc...
• Must be able to multi-task and complete work in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to work independently, and find appropriate solutions to challenges when necessary.
• Able to follow established office standards & procedures.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, Excel, Lotus Notes and Microsoft Outlook.
• Be cognizant of the project schedule and budget and work to complete assigned tasks on schedule and under budget.
• Perform periodic field visits to monitor for compliance w/ the plans, schedule and desired quality of work.
• To work with and assist other Team Members in resolving barrier in a cost effective manner.
• occasional construction site visits with exposure to dust/dirt, extreme temperatures, inclement weather, noise.
• Occasional travel by either car or plane to out-of-town, construction sites, and municipal offices.
