Mechanical Design Engineer

Description

This position is responsible for providing Mechanical Engineering Support for small to large Capital and Expense Projects. This includes conceptual planning, scope development, estimating, detailed design, coordination with other disciplines, equipment procurement, monitoring outside engineering contractors, and construction/start-up support. The position includes all areas of Mechanical Engineering, with emphasis on providing expertise and knowledge of rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, gear drives, motors, agitators, blowers, mechanical seals, etc.).

Qualifications
Required:

* Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
* Minimum of 5 or more years of experience with mechanical equipment design, fabrication, inspection, and installation, with emphasis on machinery.
* Able to handle and manage multiple priorities.
* Self-starter, good communication skills, organization, coordination, and leadership skills.
* Strong computer skills.
* Familiar with applicable industry Codes as the relate to rotating and stationary equipment (ASME, ANSI, API, and other applicable codes)

Desired:

* 3+ years of experience in large capital projects.
* SAP or other CMMS experience
* Experience in chemical/petrochemical industry.
* Professional Engineering License
