Marine Manager

The Manager, Marine manages his functional department and staff through planning, implementing, administering and supervising marine operation programs as necessary to keep our fleet at work and as directed by senior management. This position will also provide expert advice regarding marine operations and leadership development for employees. Serves as the main point of contact for all marine related issues within the company.

Primary Responsibilities
• Supervise the marine operations of the fleet.
• Issue & update marine procedures and implement them throughout the Pride fleet
• Co-ordinate with Rig managers worldwide and supervise the rig move operations (including towage preparation or loadout & offloading) of the Pride fleet. Direct the team of Pride rig movers.
• Compile/maintain marine performances of the Pride fleet (rig moves, towages, transportations)
• Attend and supervise Rig Marine Audits
• Participate in chartering tug boats or heavy lift carriers for ocean rig moves or dry-transportations
• Maintain operational contact with Risk Management Department
• Liaise with Marine Warranty Surveyors for certificates of approval (location approvals, approval of transportations, approval of specific operations)
• Assist the Marketing Support Department for the mobilization of rig
• Update the Marine Operation Manuals of the Units of the Pride fleet, as needed
• Recommend competency & licensing profile for marine personnel to HR
• Work with Asset Management, Engineering, Projects, Operations and QHSE in executing his duties and ensure the work is completed on schedule and within budget.

Education:
• Master Mariner with advanced degree a plus.
Professional Experience:
Skills – Technical:
• Sound marine & nautical knowledge
• Experience with DP rigs.
• 10 years responsibility in captainship or OIM position onboard a floating rig or leading/supervising teams.
• Self-motivated and ability to work independently.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
• Effective management and leadership skills.
• Experience in contract negotiations and business terms.
• Excellent analytical and quantitative skills.
• Excellent problem solving and negotiating skills.
• Working experience in the offshore drilling industry and marine industry is required.
Skills – Communication:
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Bi-lingual preferred (Spanish, French, or Portuguese).
Skills – People:
• Ability to understand & react with diverse groups & operations.
• Ability to recognize & resolve conflict.
• Proficient in leading and developing managerial reports
