Mechanical Engineer

You will independently design electro-mechanical packaging means for large-scale networked computer systems. These systems make up our search clusters, which form one of the largest computing platforms in the world.
Responsibilities:

* Develop and execute designs for complex server systems.
* Deliver robust solutions for tasks such as blind mating of high density interconnects, inject/eject mechanisms, and large server racks.
* Take responsibility for product design, including concepts generation & detailed design, analysis & verification testing, cross functional reviews, and manufacturing release.

Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or Math is required with a masters preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered.
* Excellent facility with 3D CAD systems (Pro/Engineer experience a plus).
* Strong background in mechanical design of PCBAs and electrical interconnect systems.
* Extensive experience in designing complex electro-mechanical assemblies with an expert understanding of mechanical tolerances and ability to perform detailed tolerance loop analysis.
* Good to excellent facility with thermal analysis techniques for small to large electronics packaging systems (Flotherm experience a plus).
* 10+ years work experience in design and analysis of electronics packaging. Sheet metal expertise is a must.
* A broad suite of engineering talents, as well as specific expertise in design for medium-scale sheet metal production, heat extraction, and vibration control.
