ROLE:
Supervise and participate in the provision of deepwater well design, planning, programming and reporting of drilling operations to ensure the technical and safety integrity of wells. Supervision of procedures and processes to ensure all the appropriate options are considered, developing and promoting techniques and strategies that optimise asset value.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Preparation and review of detailed drilling programmes and statutory permits for submission to the Drilling Manager
• Manage the Well Planning Process (WPP) as per the DMS including supervision of engineers to ensure compliance.
• Liaise with government and other agencies to ensure compliance.
• Analysis of drilling materials requirements to meet programme demands
• Manage preparation of cost estimates and AFEs for future wells and reconcile actual costs with approved AFEs
• Analysis and reporting of drilling performance and identification of areas for potential improvement or further study
• Research and promotion of innovative and best practice techniques to optimise drilling performance
• Co-ordination of service requirements for daily activities
• Ongoing assistance in the management of the performance improvement processes within MOH
• Maintenance and up-dating of design and construction documentation and statutory guidelines.
• Mentoring and supervision of Drilling Engineers

QUALIFICATIONS
• Degreed engineer
• > 8+ years drilling engineering experience with at least 3 years in GOM deepwater drilling
• Competence in deepwater well design and operating procedures
• Competence in permitting and compliance with MMS regulations
• Proven track record in adapting and using appropriate technologies
• Proven ability as a strong team player and team builder
• Willingness to assist the offshore teams at the well-site if required
