Project Manager-Manufacturing/Petrochemical/Refinery

Job Location: HOUSTON, TX

A well established client located in the Houston, TX area has an opening for a Senior Project Manager that has experience in the petrochemical / refinery industry preferably with retrofit and modular projects. This position will be responsible for extensive client interface both domestic and international and to oversee and manage the project budgets, schedules and cost expenditures of assigned projects. A good knowledge of modular system fabrication, including structural, piping, vessel, insulation, rotating equipment and I&E design is needed. You must have a demonstrated ability to manage subcontracts for engineering, fabrication of piping, structural steel and vessels, and other services such as painting, insulation and I&E work. You will also be responsible for completing or reviewing scope of work, requisitions and purchase order to subcontractors as well as to review subcontractor work including engineering documents, estimate personnel needs and schedule and assign work to meet required completion dates. A B.S in Engineering or related fields and/or 10 plus years demonstrated experience is required. You must have a good understanding of document control and a high degree of accuracy and numbers abilities. Position will require up to approximately 20% travel. Relocation is available for eligible candidates.

Petrochemical / Refinery experience is a must to be considered for this position. This position will be responsible for pressure vessel calculations client specification reviews piping design and specification and to review / approve of other engineers work. Qualified candidates must have approximately 10 years mechanical engineering experience an intimate knowledge of ASME Section VIII familiarity with ANSI and API codes and experience with client specification review with the ability to understand impact on equipment instrumentation and fabrication. You must be able to participate in the review of detailed design and provide guidance to Jr level Engineers. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is needed. The ability to develop sound working relationships with internal / external customers and a demonstrated high degree of coordination planning and organizational skills is a must.
