Specifically, the Chief Engineer shall perform technical coordination and oversight of all the engineering activities across all disciplines, balancing technical performance, schedule, cost, and risk considerations to insure appropriate technical decisions are made, and providing day-to-day work direction to the manufacturing team. Drive technical excellence by upholding technical standards for daily operations and projects, implementing Standard Work, and identifying and mitigating risk. Perform team building, mentor and develop team members, review performance, resolve conflict and initiate corrective action as required. Set team roles and performance expectations, and provide ongoing feedback and input into performance appraisals. The Chief Engineer also performs as a technical interface with customers through formal Integrated Product Teams (IPT).

Qualifications:

- BS Engineering or related technical discipline required. Advanced degree preferred.
- 8 - 10 years experience in Engineering or related field and experience in project engineering and/or technical leadership is required
- Demonstrated engineering skills and sound engineering judgment relating to design and manufacturing of aerospace, energetic, or propellant materials is required.
- Experience with applying six sigma/DFSS/Lean Design principles, value engineering, and process improvement is required.
- Applicants must be able to present technical information in written and oral form with clarity.
