The person hired into this role will be included in Newmont's Emerging Talent Program, which is a 2 year, rotational program for entry-level, new grad hires. The program offers mentoring, learning and development, networking and formal development planning for all participants.
The Mine Engineer II - Underground Early Stage Studies will perform a variety of engineering duties in the modification or adaptation of established systems, processes, or project plans. Essential Duties include:
* Participate in scoping and pre-feasibility study analysis
* Develop and analyze underground study work plans
* Participate in the Capital Effectiveness process and work as part of a team
* Develop the management operating system, reporting and consolidated scheduling
* Apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria in making minor adaptations and modifications to established engineering plans or systems.
* Independently perform work which involves conventional types of plans, investigations, surveys, structures or equipment with some complex features, and for which there are engineering standards as precedents established.
* Plan, organize and coordinate model development, tests, or investigations. Collect data points, interpret results, and prepare recommendations. Presentation of executive summaries, and cost estimates to senior staff.
* May direct the work of others in the modification or adaptation of systems or processes.

Working Conditions:
* Primarily office, but will be required to access mining areas, rough terrain, or exploration sites on a daily basis.
* Must be sensitive to cultural differences at the operations within the Company.
Qualifications
* Minimum requirement: B.S. degree in Mine Engineering
* Masters degree in Engineering, Mineral Economics OR 2 years of experience in a specialty area are necessary.
* Mining industry experience preferred.
