BASIC FUNCTION:
The Engineer 5 must perform without detailed direction and be capable of performing project engineering functions and supervising a project team. May be designated to be a Project Lead Discipline Engineer. May act as a Package Engineer on a project.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reports directly to the Group Lead Engineer, and indirectly to the Project Engineering Manager. The Engineer is responsible for the proper and timely completion of the assigned engineering packages for the project.
- Must coordinate effort and priorities with the Project Engineering Manager so that the engineering output coincides with the overall project schedule, and must coordinate manpower requirements with the Group Lead Engineer. Technical advice and direction is received from his supervisor (as well as other experienced company personnel) as required, but the Engineer is responsible for selection of methods and procedures and optimization of the design and materials within the scope of the project specifications.
- Close cooperation with the Design and Drafting activity is essential to ensure that the design engineering is properly translated to the drawings and specifications.
EDUCATION:
- Graduate Engineer from a recognized university in a relevant engineering discipline (i.e., structural, civil, mechanical, ocean, naval architecture, etc.) with 10 years relevant experience in chosen discipline or minimum 2 years at Engineer 4/Sr. Engineer grade.
- Offshore experience. An advanced Engineering degree or Professional Registration is desirable.
