Our client, a global EPC firm is looking for a Senior Structural Lead Engineer to work on a major new FPSO project. The successful applicant will work out of the companies offices in Houston.
Senior Structural Lead Engineer:
The primary function of this position is to conduct and coordinate engineering activities in support of specific projects, or as part of a project team, from project initiation through acceptance of the final product by the customer, including cost control.
Responsibilities include:
Leading a discipline team
Familiarity with project technical specifications and commercial constraints.
Responsible for selection of methods and optimization of the design and materials within the scope of the project specifications.
Coordination with the Engineering Project Manager regarding project activities.
Providing input to other disciplines
Coordinate design and drafting activities with designers and ensure design engineering is translated to the drawings and specifications.
Engineer may act as a Package Engineer (responsible for technical design, procurement and manufacture of the package)
Adherence to Quality Assurance system for discipline
The position requires familiarity with discipline engineering principles and procedures and the ability to apply them. It also requires working knowledge of normal commercial and marine fabrication materials, procedures, and capabilities.
Education and Experience:
Graduate Engineer from a recognized university in a relevant marine engineering discipline
Minimum 10 years experience with offshore floating platform structures particularly FPSOs, Tension Leg Platforms.
Professional Registration preferred
