We are seeking several experienced Drilling Engineers with a proven track record of accomplishments to support various high-profile and emerging plays for the company, to include areas in East Texas and Louisiana.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Prepare detailed drilling procedures, AFE's, well designs, casing designs, bit programs and monitor progress of daily drilling activities.

Will work with the team members to ensure that the drilling schedule is met and carried out in the most cost effective manner possible.

Must stay current with new technology; develop and implement new techniques and approaches related to drilling processes. Cannot be afraid to fail and/or test new ideas.

Monitor actual well costs and benchmark against offset operators to ensure that we are the best in area.

Support EnCana's safety and environmental program from a leadership perspective.

Participate in the bid process for drilling services' preparation, review and selection of service providers.

Mentor younger drilling engineers and college new hires during drilling rotation.

Qualifications

A minimum of five years experience as a Drilling Engineer with a proven track record of accomplishments; deep, high pressure, hot hole, tight gas sand onshore drilling operations experience preferred.

Effective interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work well with others in a team environment.

Demonstrated project management skills.

Strong business acumen.

Bachelor's degree in petroleum or other engineering required; Masters degree a plus.

Ability to satisfy US Department of Justice requirements with or without assistance from EnCana.
