Position Summary:
The Technical Business Solutions Team within the Midstream Services Business Unit is seeking an experienced and highly motivated electrical engineer with a strong background in process design, process controls, project management, and energy efficiency. The position will serve all business units across EnCana’s USA Division.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain guidelines for electrical construction practices in the Midstreamn Services Business Unit.
Modeling and input on electric vs. engine decision making in development areas.
Engineering input to motor driven compressor station design and construction as well as power access.
Design input to electrical generation and electric driver equipment.
Expected to represent EnCana interests on various technical codes, standards, and regulatory bodies.
Facilitate technical and commercial capability training and development across business units.
Conduct internal audits on Electrical Quality Management Plan (EQMP) and implement corrective actions as needed
Provide EQMP program rollouts to staff to ensure current requirements are in place.
Develop and initiate electrical safety Best Practices.
Direct and manage arc flash hazard analysis studies and implement recommendations at field locations
Coordinate and provide electrical safety training for the business units.
Periodic field trips will be required for project and operations support and various meetings and training functions.
Qualifications:
5 -10+ years preferred of current experience in oil and gas (preferred) facilities, electrical project management, design, construction management, and commissioning.
Engineering degree in electrical discipline.
Broad technical and commercial knowledge of all aspects of electrical power and control systems for oil and gas facilities, electrical and instrumentation construction practices and contractor management, National Electrical Code and other regulations, and industry recognized practices.
Experience in design of industrial gas facilities.
Knowledge of communications programming for industrial gas facilities (such as PLCs or Delta V systems)
Negotiation skills for dealing with internal management, internal engineering, maintenance and operations staff, equipment vendors, and electrical/instrumentation contractors.

Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
