Product Engineer-Hydraulics

Base Compensation: $75-$100K

Company is a leading designer and manufacturer of mobile offshore drilling
units and producer of specialty alloy plate.

The Product Engineer - Hydraulics shall be responsible for engineering
design, documentation, testing, and technical support of both field and
manufacturing issues in the areas of hydraulic and pneumatic systems and
components on large mobile mining equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Primary design responsibility for mobile off high way hydraulic and
pneumatic systems used on Mining Products equipment.
2. Selection responsibility for all purchased hydraulic and pneumatic
components (i.e cylinders, valves, pumps).
3. Provide technical interface with external hydraulic and pneumatic
components suppliers and our internal Supply Chain Management function.
4. Writing technical reports.
5. Overseeing and developing hydraulic and or pneumatic systems and
component tests and test procedures.
6. Oversee the activities of assigned drafting staff in the creation of
drawings and Bills of Material to support design responsibility.
7. Actively champion design improvements that promote increases in
reliability or decreases in either manufacturing cost or operating cost.
8. Provide technical support to manufacturing and final assembly as it
relates to hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
9. Provide technical support to Product Support and Dealer Technicians.
Occasional travel, less than 5% of the time, to resolve field issues when
required.
10. Oversee failure analysis of hydraulic and pneumatic components.
11. Provide technical support to our Technical Publications area in the
way of documentation, assistance in writing maintenance manuals, and
assistance in writing Service Information Letters.
12. Monitor and respond to issues that relate to hydraulic and pneumatic
systems or components.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in mechanical engineering with a minimum of 10

years related experience in hydraulic systems design preferably in mobile
off high way machinery. Certified Fluid Power Engineer credentials and
computer aided hydraulic systems modeling experience would be a plus.
