Software Engineer - Services Research

Job description

The IBM Almaden Research Center is currently developing a Rapid Cost Estimator for IBM's strategic outsourcing business. For these efforts we are in need of a Software Engineer. The hired candidate will practice research, organizational studies and practice-based design of organizational innovations. You will work in Business Research, including but not limited to specialization in business modeling, industry evolution and service economics, business architecture, business performance models, business process modeling and modernization, business services. You will perform specific Software Engineering in the design and development of algorithms for extraction of information from documents in different domains. Work in Services Design efforts.

Computer Science skills in: Software design, Implementation, Documentation skills, Software Programming (Java), XML, Virtual World experience, Eclipse RCP skills, Information Analytics, Machine Learning, System Design & data mining area, Software development, RDBMS, Web application development, Text mining, Databases, computer architecture, Artificial intelligence, programming languages, business data analytics, text analytics, Information Retrieval Skills. C Programming is a bonus.

Required

* At least 2 years experience in Computer Science
* At least 2 years experience in Java Programming
* English: Intermediate



Preferred

* Master's Degree
* At least 2 years experience in Business Modeling
