Requirements:

10+ years of expereience. BS Electrical Engineering. MA PE preferred.

Design of AC and DC power substation/distribution systems in the transit/railroad industry. Capability in the preparation of AC and DC single lines, metering and relay diagrams, substation equipment layouts, conduit and cable layout, power and lighting. Good knowledge of load studies and short circuit analysis, voltage drop calculations for equipment sizing, grounding design, relay coordination, and power control schematics.

Design of AC and DC catenary systems for rail road and transit applications. Thorough understanding of the working of a catenary system. Capability in performing pole and foundation loading calculations, catenary tension calculations, analysis of wire sag and rise conditions, preparation of catenary plan and profile diagrams, catenary support structures including cantilevers, portals and headspans. Knowledge of catenary wire properties, insulators and miscellaneous hardware.

Strong communication skills and ability to work with others is needed to be successful in this position

General computer skills in Words and Excel. Knowledge of load flow and circuit analysis computer software a plus.
