Responsibilities:
* Lead activities related to oil and gas drilling, completion and workovers as part of a high performance team
* Perform work on Shell E & P Company drilling and workover rigs
Key Accountabilities:
* Assume a lead operational role in planning and executing activities related to oil and gas drilling, completion and workovers
* Manage and accountable for the safe completion of projects within planned cost and time goals
* Manage project cost management and the accuracy of morning reports and cost data
* Lead role for Health, Safety and Environmental efforts including contractor safety
* Oversee offshore logistics (equipment, manpower, materials)
* Work closely with engineering, subsurface teams, and vendors in planning and executing work
* Maximize the rig team performance by building an enabling environment where everyone has the freedom to contribute, challenge and participate
* Innovate operational practices with the ability to implement new technology
* Facilitate learning throughout the drilling & completions organization
Requirements:
* Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
* Possess High School Diploma or equivalent and have approximately 5 or more years oil field offshore operations supervisory experience (service company, directional driller, etc.) preferred
* Continued education with an associate degree in Petroleum Technology or a related field is preferred
* Completion of formal certification programs related to this position
* Willingness to support a drug-free work environment
* Willingness to work either a 14 & 14 (14 day on and 14 day off) schedule, a 21 & 21 schedule or a 28 & 28 schedule offshore
* Willingness to work a minimum of 12 hours per day
* Willingness to work offshore on high platforms, walk on high elevation grating and to walk up and down stairs
* Willingness to ride in a helicopter over open waters to remote work locations
* Willingness to work in a team environment
* Ability to read and write English
* Experience with computers in a Windows operating environment
* Willingness to take and pass a basic swimming test
* Willingness to ride in a boat in open waters for extended periods
* Willingness to transfer to or from a boat via personnel basket swung by a crane
* Willingness to transfer to or from a boat using a swing rope
* Background in all aspects of offshore drilling and completion operations
* Understanding of safety management requirements for offshore operations and a personal commitment to safety
* Effective leadership and communication skills
* Detailed understanding of the regulatory requirements for offshore drilling and completion operations
* Willingness to work on a variety of rigs and jobs is desired
* Drilling and completion experience with geopressures (especially high pressure/high temperature) is a plus
* Drilling and completion experience with deep wells (greater than 15,000 feet) is a plus
* Drilling and completion experience with extended reach, horizontal drilling, sub-sea systems and high rate completions is a plus
