Gore Filtration Products is seeking a Process Engineer to support our businesses.

In this Process Engineering role, the candidate will be a part of a multi-disciplined team of associates focused on creating and sustaining a profitable business for a young consumer and OEM product line. The initial commitment will involve engaging with several external manufacturing companies, leading an efficient transition of new manufacturing processes and next generation products. Past experience in qualifying new products and validating new processes to create a stable, capable, and cost effective product is critical. Experience working with suppliers and contract manufacturers and influencing in an effective manor to drive positive sustained change is necessary.

To be successful in this commitment, the candidate will be required to:

* Operate independently at contract manufacturer's sites throughout the supply chain to promote stable capable manufacturing.
* Plan and carry out product, process, and equipment validations. Measure, understand, and document our products and processes.
* Match fitness-for-use requirements to process measurements and set points. Measure process stability and capability.
* Participate in vendor selection, qualification, and the development of raw material specifications.
* Create, carry out, and review experiments using statistical methods.
* Identify and improve key performance measures for the process while understanding the business / financial implications.
* Perform gauge studies to learn the effectiveness of measurement techniques.
* Use SPC concepts to evaluate process variation.
* Design, troubleshoot, and optimize manufacturing processes to eliminate constraints.
* Adapt new technologies to existing operations to improve products and processes.
* Partner with product specialists to introduce new and derivative products to manufacturing.
* Critique process and product improvement proposals by applying quality, ergonomic, safety, environmental and cost factors.
* Work with design engineers to develop and acquire new equipment.
* Document your work with reports, tech notebooks, quality system and presentations.

Qualifications:

* BSME degree with a minimum of five years process engineering experience or a minimum of two years of "hands-on" experience working in the textile/weaving industry.
Project management and good organizational skills.
* Working knowledge of SPC and DOE.
* Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
* Ability to lift 35 pounds.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office package, statistical tools) required.
* Ability to multi-task.
* Problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
* Strong mechanical skills required.
* Ability to travel up to 25%.
* Prior experience working with external contract manufacturers
* Successful completion of medical screening/evaluation.
* Two year commitment required.
* Willingness to sign the PTFE non-compete agreement.

Desired:

* Lamination / web-handling experience preferred.
* Ultrasonic equipment, potting technology experience/knowledge helpful.
* Experience with textile manufacturing.
