Job Description :
The aim of our Classification Service is to assure owners, authorities and other stakeholders that the facility complies with both Classification Rules and relevant Statutory requirements.
The DNV Houston Offshore Service Center is responsible for maintenance of Class and Statutory compliance for approximately 90 mobile offshore units (drilling, production and support; semisubmersible, jackup and ship-shaped) operating in the Gulf of Mexico and worldwide.
Included in our work is approval and survey of newbuilding, upgrades, repairs & modifications, class and statutory surveys, and technical support to the units’ owners.
We interface on a regular basis with both Coastal (Shelf) State and Flag State Governments. Major Responsibilities

* Survey, examination and reporting on structure and equipment of Mobile Offshore Units plus other marine and offshore structures during newbuilding, upgrade and in-service phases for compliance with DNV Rule requirements and relevant Statutory and special service requirements related to IMO MODU Code, SOLAS, Loadline, Tonnage, Pollution Prevention , Cargo Gear certification and/or other applicable regulations.
* Review and response to technical queries regarding compliance with DNV Rule requirements and relevant Statutory requirements
* Review and approval of submittals to DNV Rule requirements and relevant Statutory requirements.

Job Requirements :

* Degree in Naval Architecture or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university
* 5 years experience in the Marine / Oil & Gas Industry
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and work with personnel at all organizational levels
* Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
