Client, a large offshore drilling contractor, is currently seeking a Senior Engineering Specialist (Electrical) for their Houston, Texas location. Candidate will assist on major electrical issues on the drilling equipment, diesel generator tests, thrusters and main marine systems equipment. Duties also include traveling to rigs to inspect, train, troubleshoot and develop solutions for automated pipe handling system problems and upgrades. Candidate will perform inspections and attend tests of new equipment to ensure compliance with approved drawings, workmanship standards and contract specifications. A strong technical background in heavy equipment, diesel engines, and mechanical issues relating to this equipment is required. A Bachelor of Sciences degree, with a minimum of 5 years experience with an offshore drilling contractor, marine contractor/engineering, or pipe handling equipment manufacturer is a must.
