Description
. Responsibilities Under general supervision, develops drilling plans and provide technical expertise to drilling, workover and completion projects for maximum profitability from company-operated wells located in Shelf and Deepwater Gulf of Mexico.

- Independently develop drilling plans and provide technical expertise to drilling, workover and completion projects for maximum profitability from company-operated wells located in Shelf and Deepwater Gulf of Mexico;
- Prepare, review and implement complex drilling and workover projects using existing technical guidelines;
- Develop detailed drilling/completion procedures and programs for company-operated wells. Ensure optimum production of wells by pursuing and devising cost-effective techniques to drill, complete and rework company-operated wells. Based on information received on valid well locations, develop cost and project specifications, secure contractors and provide technical support to field operations.
- Gather and organize information such as equipment specifications, government regulations, operating agreements, permit approvals, technical publications, guidelines, and reports;
- Monitor drilling operations according to safety and quality control standards, environmental regulations, corporate policy and contract terms;
- Evaluate and recommend equipment and procedures of contractors and vendors for company-operated wells;
- Evaluate third party design analysis for thoroughness and accuracy;
- Recommend project modifications to ensure efficient use of resources;
- Control and administer expenditures for projects working within approved budget and in accordance with established policies. Develop and implement cost-savings measures, conserve organizational resources and safeguard company assets;
- May occasionally manage daily drilling operations through direct supervision of Well Site Supervisor. Supervision may also include contract drilling crews and sub-contracted personnel.

Requirements

Qualifications:
* Requires a B.S. degree in Engineering and a minimum of 5 years of well-rounded experience in onshore and/or offshore drilling, completion and workover operations. Some experience in offshore operations is essential.
* Deepwater and/or Gulf of Mexico experience is a plus.
* Must have working knowledge of government regulations and permitting requirements.
