Job Description
Turbine specialist engineer with experience in the design, installation, and commissioning of steam and gas turbines for power generation.
- Under general supervision, perform and check most types of calculations and design using both computer-aided and manual design techniques. Provide assistance to the Lead Engineer, as requested, in the area of schedules, estimates, progress reports, meetings, procurement, activities, etc.
- If serving in a Lead or Area Lead position, perform all or some of the following: organize/plan jobs, write/review specifications, prepare/maintain schedules, develop/monitor estimates and manpower forecasts, assign work, work with project/client/field, material procurement, permit, and subcontract activities.
- Utilize vendor data and work with personnel from other disciplines as required for the performance of designs.
- Perform squad check of vendor data and drawings from other disciplines.
- Attend external technical seminars and self-enroll in Fluor’s training courses.
- Perform self-check of completed work, develop self confidence, and provide guidance to less experienced engineers.
- Exhibit thorough understanding of pertinent codes and governing regulations and industry practices, etc.
- Develop client relations.
Basic Job Requirements
BS Mechanical Engineering (or related) degree required.
16+ years experience in the design, installation, and commissioning of steam and gas turbines for power generation.
Must be proficient in MS word, MS excel, and be generally computer literate.
16 years or more direct work related experience in:
- Gas Turbine Power Plant mechanical equipment (GTG, STG,
fuel gas systems, etc.).
- Power plant mechanical systems
- Engineering work processes
